Suspended in the sky, so high above the trials
Of a finite life and mortal existence.
You reside there, in the peak of space,
Amongst the stars and pastel skies.
It seems like such a peaceful world.
A misty veil shrouds your face;
I cannot see your radiant gaze,
And the world longs for your pearlescent light.
A looming darkness covers the land;
Caressing every corner, and strengthening every shadow.
Why do you hide yourself away?
Lost in that diamond-studded sea,
And surrounded by a limitless void
That we can seldom only dream of!
It seems like such a lonely world.
Are you lonesome, dearest Luna,
In that place beyond the clouds?
A precious, sentient sentinel,
Just out of reach, just out of sight,
But never out of mind.
